​In 2026, Ukraine’s defence tech ecosystem is maturing fast but facing a massive gap between growing industrial capacity and funded domestic demand. According to recent venture intelligence, as much as 80% of Ukrainian production capacity could remain idle going forward.  At the level of investment activity, the ecosystem also remains severely underfunded compared to its EU and US equivalents.

​While the partial opening of exports offers a glimmer of hope in this regard, the long-term health and sustainability of Ukraine’s defence industry requires that we solve the cross-border defence tech ‘puzzle’.

​Whether it is export, joint ventures, large-scale investments, or future M&A activity – all of these involve cross-border legal and business complexity that need to be addressed systematically, professionally, and on a basis of mutual trust between parties.
