Somatic Nourishment ~ Water & Winter Solstice
Calling all Water Babies!
This is a guided somatic movement & dance experience that honours water's intelligence and the stillness of winter solstice—the longest night before light begins its return. The extended darkness of this threshold offers us a unique container to work with water as both element and teacher, inviting us to explore the depths of what lives within our bodies.
At this particular moment in the wheel of the year, the planetary alignments create potent support for connecting with water's elemental wisdom. This astrological backdrop invites us into the meeting place where spiritual insight and embodied form become one—exactly what somatic experiences can offer when we allow water's intelligence to guide our experience.
This experience centres body wisdom and participant choice. You're invited to move at your own pace, rest when needed, and follow what feels right for your body in each moment.
The offering is experiential and invites your agency: Throughout you can modify any movement, participate as much or as little as feels right. There is no 'right way' —only what is right for you in each moment. Your body's wisdom guides you, and all choices you make are honoured.
Throughout, you'll have opportunities to:
Connect with water's elemental intelligence and the wisdom held in your body
Explore gentle movement and natural rhythms of your body
Experience stillness and flowing movement
Engage in creative expression through drawing and journaling
Share and witness in community (always optional)
Who This Practice Welcomes
Anyone who feels called to connect more deeply with their embodied experience is welcome here. You might be drawn to honour this seasonal threshold, to explore water's wisdom in your body, to work with the element of water, or to receive the elemental and planetary support available at this potent time. Perhaps you're curious about somatic practices but haven't found the right entry point, or maybe you have an established practice and are seeking community connection during the solstice.
No previous experience with movement, dance, or somatic practice is needed. All movements are adaptable and can be done seated, standing, or lying down. Resting is always an option. Your nourishment is the priority.
