Leicester Comedy Festival: Moving On - ONLINE & IN PERSON
Join Equity East Midlands for a special branch meeting and panel discussion with some of the people closest to the all-new Leicester Independent Comedy Festival and Leicester’s wider comedy community.
With a focus on looking forwards, we’ll hear from those involved about what we can expect, including how comedians can get involved in the new festival. There will be an opportunity to put your questions to the panel and network with comedians, creatives and other members of our regional performance community.
The Panel
Alex Hylton – Comedian
Colin Bowles – Promoter
Alex and Colin are launching the Leicester Independent Comedy Festival this autumn and will share more about the festival and how to take part.
Antony Flint – Manager, De Montfort Hall and Lead for Leicester’s night-time and cultural economy
Anthony Lamb – Venue Manager, leading the crowdfunding campaign to keep the Big Difference venue open.
David Elphick – Vice-Chair, Live Comedy Association
Ian Manborde – Equity Midlands Regional Officer will also be in attendance.
Equity branch meetings are a chance to meet other people working across the entertainment industry, build your network, share experiences and find out what your union is doing locally.
Not an Equity member? You’re welcome too. Come along, meet the community and find out what Equity can do for you.

Attend in person or join us online
Please RSVP whether you intend to attend in person or online. Knowing who is joining us in the room helps us plan numbers, refreshments and snacks. Registering also means you’ll receive event reminders and online access, so you can still join via Zoom if your plans change.
The online room will be hosted from the theatre by Caron-Jane Lyon, East Midlands Branch Committee member, digital stage manager and XR producer, using her Zoom in the Room mobile tech setup to bring the online audience into the live conversation.
