Water, the ground, and us
In this storytelling session, Eklavya Prasad will take us from the wells and communities of Dhanbad Municipal Corporation, where Megh Pyne Abhiyan is working on Shallow Aquifer Management, to the flood-prone plains of North Bihar, where communities live amidst abundant surface water yet continue to face drinking-water challenges.
Through stories from these contrasting landscapes, the session will explore what lies beneath the surface and how understanding aquifers, local water systems and community knowledge can reshape the way we think about water security and resilience.
About Eklavya
Eklavya is an experienced social development professional with almost three decades of sustained engagement in water, sanitation, climate adaptation, and community-led resilience across rural and urban South Asia.
His work bridges grassroots practice, participatory resource governance, contextual technology solutions, and policy-influencing research, particularly in extreme weather environments like flood-prone North Bihar and water-stressed regions of Jharkhand and West Bengal.
