Group Chat : Fashion x Nostalgia
Join us for an intimate in-store styling event at the intersection of fashion and memory.
In this session, we explore the relationship between clothing and nostalgia: the pieces we return to again and again, and why certain objects endure. Drawing on Baudrillard and Barthes, we will consider how garments, accessories, and jewelry become heirlooms, talismans, and markers of identity.
Participants are encouraged to bring a garment or object they feel a strong nostalgic attachment to but are struggling to style. We will close with an in-store styling exercise.
Tickets are limited and tend to go quickly.
About Group Chat
Group Chat is an ongoing salon-style series at SOTE. Each session explores a single theme in fashion, identity, and culture through open conversation and hands-on exercises, guided by Lauren Pellerano Gomez, a Santa Fe fashion scholar and creative consultant, in partnership with Sophie Sagar, co-owner of SOTE.
The next session, on July 23, will explore Fashion x The Desire Cycle.
