As EU Commissioner for Environment (2010–2014), Janez made it official EU policy, proposing the first-ever EU Circular Economy Package in 2014 and setting the circular vision that still shapes legislation today. The UN named him a Champion of the Earth for it. 

​Today, he's Co-Chair of the UN International Resource Panel, Partner at SYSTEMIQ, and still one of the sharpest, most outspoken voices on what it actually takes to transform our economy -systemically, politically, and practically.
