Sustainability in AI Safety Careers: A conversation with RAISEimpact
Summary
AI safety is a field where the work is genuinely urgent, the timelines feel short, and many people believe what they do matters on a civilisational scale.
You might find yourself asking, "How do I sustain myself when I actually believe the stakes are enormous and the timeline is short?"
(You're not alone!)
In this session, Adam Tury and Teo Embers (Co-Leads, RAISEimpact) join Jessica Pu Wang (Founder & Executive Director, Safe AI Germany) for a conversation on career sustainability in AI safety. Adam and Teo have coached researchers, founders, and operations leads across the AI safety ecosystem; Jessica is running a national AI safety organisation while trying to figure this out in real time. The session will be part live coaching, part audience Q&A (via Slido).

She has been working on SAIGE roughly 9-9 six days a week for months since January 2026, and was the only FTE in this organisation until July 2026. After many conversations with other AI safety full-time staff, one common topic is 'how to make sure that our careers are sustainable'. She decided to invite RAISEimpact to this conversation.
