Ananse Ntontan: A Workshop for Community Rooted, Justice Oriented Climate Action

This event will demonstrate an Afrofutures, community rooted, justice oriented approach to climate action. Participants will participate in and learn various approaches, activities, and frameworks for working with their/an community on climate action. This includes exploring their personal multiverses, Creating portals to community, Reimagining systems multitemporally (considering the past present and future simultaneously), charting paths to preferred futures, and creating new worlds through creative collisions and collaborative implementation. It would be an interactive session with activities where participants would work through the various steps.

This workshop is for those who want to catalyze action on climate, work with a community (including marginalized communities) and centre equity in their work, but are struggling with apathy, a lack of engagement, and an inability to get a community to participate and may not realize they are really using the wrong tools and techniques to meaningfully connect with and centre community in their work.

The event will be held in Downtown Toronto, Location will be revealed once you are registered.

If the cost represents a barrier to participation or If you can't make an in-person session in Downtown Toronto, but would be interested in an online session please contact me here or at my website http://juliusklindsay.online. If enough people express interest in online, I will consider something for the new year.
