We are continuing our meetups!
This time we will have an hybrid event and it is possible to attend in-person or watch the stream!
For this meetup we have two speakers and the topics are again highly timely. Join us for an evening of talks and networking opportunities. Light snacks and refreshments will be provided. The event will be in Leppävaara at the Laurea University of Applied Sciences campus.
There is a limited number of spots for in-person attendance so please cancel your in-person registration in advance if you are not able to join, you can register to watch the stream instead. The stream link will be delivered via email.
Registration will open on 21st of September and close on the 5th of October.
Arriving
With public transport, use the commuter train, bus, or Jokeri light rail. Campus is 750m walk from the Leppävaara train station.
With car, use the Leppävaara sports park or sports arena parking areas.

Renting Brains, Owning the Mistakes: LLMs in Cybersecurity Education
Students already use LLMs for almost everything: explaining concepts, writing reports, debugging their labs, and sometimes skipping the hard part of learning altogether. And they will not stop when they graduate: the habits formed in a lecture hall follow them into the SOC and the codebase, which makes how we teach with these tools a security problem, not just an academic one.
This talk briefly sets out why we care about LLMs, the economics, the energy, and the jobs behind the hype, then draws on hands-on experience teaching cybersecurity at the University of Turku. I'll share where LLMs genuinely help students and where they quietly erode the skills the field depends on.
