Floods, hurricanes, wildfires, droughts, heatwaves, … these weather-related risks are not new. For 50 years, insurers have been actively collecting and quantifying loss and damage numbers.
For sustainability officers, however, "physical climate risk" topic is quite novel, and the concept of a “risk” metric is not yet intuitive. The objective of this workshop is to bridge this knowledge gap.
The recommendations of the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosure (TCFD), EU Taxonomy, CSRD/ESRS, IFRS S2 and SB 261 include the physical climate risk assessment.
The main focus of this live workshop: how to include physical climate risk in:
- Corporate due diligence
- Risk management strategies & investment decisions
- Risk pricing
- Vulnerability assessment
- Asset (de)valuation
We will present interesting and successful examples of corporate climate risk reporting and discuss the requirements for companies, including what they are expected to disclose and how it should look like.
