Composed of thought leaders in biotechnology, commercialization, investment, and economic development, the IAC will advise HJF on the technical, business, and investment merits of early-stage innovations identified through the Innovation Ecosystem—a program that includes an on-site wet-lab incubator, startup training and services, and translational funding programs. Together, these efforts are designed to advance technologies with the potential to transition seamlessly into both military and private-sector applications.

The mission of the HJF Innovation Lab @ Montgomery College, MD is to create a unique regional biotech incubator that addresses challenges specific to startups and small companies when licensing and/or developing dual-use (military and civilian) technologies. HJF can help biotech and medical device startups surmount financial constraints and navigate the ins and outs of military medical technology development such as implementing unique product development strategies, securing strategic partnerships for field testing and validation, navigating federal acquisition processes, and accessing sufficient private investment.
