Parallel Play by All Ears

​All Ears invite you to find the magic in everyday objects by making things side-by-side. Ahead of the session, we ask everyone to bring one or more objects made from everyday materials: wood, metal, textiles, or paper. It might be an old wooden toy, a tin can, a scrap of fabric, or something you've been holding onto without quite knowing why. We'll have more materials and a selection of tools waiting for you.

​We'll begin with a short talk about our practice and the methodology behind our design process; you're welcome to fidget, handle your objects, and settle in. Then we'll have some time to talk about the objects themselves: why you held onto it, or why it caught your eye. Everyone is invited to touch and look closely at each other's objects. Then, using simple pre-built structures—frames, columns, and small bases—everyone assembles their own shrine: a tribute to the object they brought, or to someone else's. Everything you make, you take home.

​All Ears is Julia B Lubner and Jan Stawiarski, an artist duo based in Hackney, London. After meeting at the Architectural Association, both turned to art and design and founded their collaborative practice in 2024.
