Roots Of Resilient: Program Design Workshop
163 Volunteers. 1 Mission. Defending our Environment.
As the dry season and desertification threaten Borno State, the youth in our community are stepping up to protect our land. On April 4th, in honor of Idealist Day, the core leadership team of the Roots of Resilience campaign is meeting in Maiduguri to plan our exact next steps for climate action.
Our grassroots movement has grown to an amazing 163 dedicated volunteers. Because our group is now so large, this strategy workshop is a time for our core team to sit down and organize everything before we go out into the field. We will be deciding exactly where to plant our drought-resistant trees and how to prepare the soil to hold water. We will also divide our large group into smaller, safe working teams, including a special art and calligraphy team that will design the beautiful wooden signs and banners for our planting sites.
We are not just planting trees for a single day. We are carefully planning a long-term project to fight climate change, protect our soil, and build a greener, safer future for Maiduguri. By designing our program properly today, we make sure our trees and our community survive and thrive tomorrow.
