Powerhouse Presents: A Live Recording of Watt It Takes with Drew Baglino, Founder & CEO of Heron Power
You’re invited to join us on Wednesday, October 21st at the SVB Experience Center in San Francisco for a live recording of Watt It Takes, featuring Drew Baglino, Founder and CEO of Heron Power, a Powerhouse Ventures portfolio company. While Drew is a prolific public figure in the energy world, he has rarely told his origin story; the upbringing that shaped him, what drew him to batteries, and why he walked away from 18 years at Tesla to start Heron.
Drew spent nearly two decades at Tesla, where he rose from electrical engineer to one of the company’s three named corporate officers. He served as Powertrain Architect for the Model S, built Tesla’s energy engineering organization, and scaled Tesla’s charging and energy businesses to over $10B in annual revenue.
At Heron Power, Drew is building next-generation power electronics purpose-built for the 21st-century grid, enabling faster, more affordable expansion of the electricity system through scalable, reliable, and software-integrated infrastructure.
Heron has raised $183 million from investors including a16z, Capricorn, Breakthrough Energy Ventures, Energy Impact Partners, and Powerhouse Ventures. The company has more than 40 GW of demand under LOI with customers including Crusoe, Clearway, RWE, and Jupiter Power, and recently announced the site of Heron Factory One, its first large-scale manufacturing facility.
This special live recording is part of the Powerhouse Ventures Annual General Meeting, a unique opportunity to connect with our portfolio company founders, Limited Partners, and the Powerhouse Ventures team.
