Navigating the Early Years - for families with a blind or partially sighted child
Join RSBC and our partners VICTA for a day filled with chat and information for families with an early years child (0–5) with vision impairment.
Our friendly and welcoming team will be there to greet you and guide you through a full day of support, learning, and connection. A range of specialists will be on hand to answer your questions and share their expertise on all things early years, and of course it will be a great chance to meet other families too!
The workshops throughout the day are designed for parents and carers, offering practical information and guidance you can take home and use with your child. All of the family are very welcome to attend, and we have planned regular breaks to ensure the day works for everyone.
There will also be a separate room available if you need to take a break from the workshops with your child at any point, and you are welcome to bring toys from home. There is also a private garden at the venue which families can enjoy together during breaks and at lunchtime.
Throughout the day, we'll be covering key topics such as:
Early developmental play and movement – practical ideas to support your child’s exploration, mobility, and confidence
Getting sleep right in the early years – helpful guidance and strategies for establishing healthy sleep routines
Accessible technology – opportunities to see demonstrations of the latest technology and discover useful resources
Lunch and refreshments will be provided so you can relax and enjoy your time with us.
There is free onsite parking at the venue. The venue is located 4 miles from Liverpool City Centre, within easy reach of the M62 and M57 Motorways. The nearest train station is Broad Green, which is a 6‑minute drive away from the venue. Liverpool Lime Street train station is a 25-minute drive away.
If you have any questions about the event, please contact Harriet, Family Activity Coordinator, at [email protected]. Or if travel costs create any challenges for you, please do get in touch quoting this event, as we may be able to offer some support.
