❓ What? A one-day conference bringing together 100 individuals across South Africa who want to make a meaningful difference in the world. Join us for talks, workshops, and networking focused on effective altruism principles and evidence-based approaches to solving pressing global challenges.
After our successful inaugural event in 2024 where attendees launched high-impact organizations, started new EA groups across Africa, and secured funding for meaningful projects, we're back for our second annual summit.

Introductory talks on EA concepts and key cause areas
Intermediate discussions on pressing global challenges and solutions
Skill-building workshops on decision-making, career strategy, and project development
Networking opportunities and informal socials to connect with peers, mentors, and collaborators

The summit prioritizes individuals based in South Africa to build the local community and strengthen connections across the region.

📍 Where? UVU Africa, Woodstock, Cape Town
📅 When? Saturday, October 11th, 2025 – 08:00 - 18:00
🤝 Stewardship Program: We connect newcomers (fellows) with experienced community members (ambassadors) for 1-on-1 conversations and ongoing mentorship beyond the event.
⏳ How to Apply: Click "Request to Join" and complete our short application (~5-10 minutes). We'll ask about your background and any engagement with effective altruism or related work.
📌 Application deadline: October 4th. We'll review your application and get back to you in about 10 business days.
💵 Payment Process: When you register for a paid ticket, your payment method is authorized, and a hold is placed on your card. If we approve your registration, we complete the charge and capture the funds. If we decline your registration, we automatically release the hold on your payment method.
If the ticket fee is a barrier, you can reach out to us at [email protected] for a waiver. Volunteers also attend for free but offering to volunteer will not impact your likelihood of acceptance to the summit.
