​Filled with great conversations that unpack what ‘Web3’ really is & how it is being used in innovative ways to keep alive forests, lakes, schools & other public goods; this gathering is open to all change-makers: lawyers, urban planners, journalists, researchers, technologists, entrepreneurs, students, your neighbours & friends. Come one, Come all!

​Funding the Commons hosts conferences, residencies and incubations for exploring new models of public goods funding for a sustainable commons.

​Overview:

​The afternoon will be structured around a series of lightning talks followed by breakout chats, a workshop & time for networking.

​A. Lightning Talks + Breakout Chats: 2:30 PM – 4:00 PM

​Lightning talks will bring together experts from web3 & real-world impact creators to share insights along three themes-

​1.     Unpacking web3: what is web3 & what are its varied mechanisms?

​2.     Impact in our Backyard: what are the perceptions, experiences & expectations around the blockchain among social sector professionals?

​3.     Web3 in the World: what are some of the ongoing projects that leverage web3 technologies to shape our daily lives?

​Each lightning talk theme will be followed by 15-minute chats around what was discussed. No strings attached- just chat-befriend, share & learn from whoever you are sitting next to!

​B. Coffee/Chai Break: 4:00 PM – 4:30 PM 

​Sip, relax, re-fuel for the next session!

​C. Workshop: 4:30-5:30 PM

​Attendees will form small groups of web3 experts, social sector professionals & funders to apply learnings from the lightning talks to their own work.

​D. Networking: 5:30- 6:30 PM
