About Event

Not a talk. Not a panel. Conversations.

Join us for an evening of rotating small-group conversations about life and work before AI, what's changing now, and what remains ours to shape.

You'll sit around a table with a few other participants, explore questions about how AI is changing our working lives, then move between groups to hear different perspectives. No presentations or technical expertise needed — just your own experiences, curiosity, and a willingness to listen.

Since early 2023, AI has moved from headlines into our daily work. It's shaped who gets hired, which workflows get automated, and what a good day at work even looks like.

Most of those changes happened fast. This evening is a chance to pause, compare experiences with people beyond your usual circle, and reflect on what these changes mean for you.

How the evening works

🕛 7:00 – Arrive, eat and meet
Bring your own dinner if you'd like. Settle in and get to know the people in the room.

🕛 7:30 – Small-group conversations
Explore questions about AI and our working lives in small groups, then switch tables to hear new perspectives.

🕛 9:00 -Bring the ideas together
Share what stood out across the conversations and reflect on what we want to carry forward.

🕛 9:30 – Wrap up and stay for chats.
An opportunity to continue the conversations informally.

This is for you if you:

  • You enjoy exchanging ideas in small groups, or want a more thoughtful alternative to talks and conventional networking.

  • Have felt the ground move at work since AI arrived, and haven't had the space to talk about it

  • Are curious about AI but tired of conversations that are only about tools and productivity

  • Want to hear how people in other roles and industries are experiencing the same shift

  • Are technical or non-technical (both perspectives make the conversation better)

 What you'll leave with

  • A clearer picture of what you value in your work, and what you want to protect

  • Fresh perspectives from people outside your usual circle

Your Host

Sharon Ng is the founder of Mind Made. She helps people bring design and product thinking to AI, so they build from their own ideas, not the AI's version of them. She has guided 150+ non-technical people to build with AI across Mind Made, SheBuilds and Global Service Jam HK. Sharon is also an ambassador for Service Design Network and Women Techmakers, and co-lead of Facilitation Lab Hong Kong. Her vision is a world where everyone, technical or not, has a say in how AI changes their life. More about Mind Made at thisismindmade.com or

FAQ

I don't have a technical background, can I join?
Yes. As long as you've used AI in some way, you have a perspective worth sharing.

How the conversations work

We'll use a format called World Café to help everyone take part in the conversation.

  • Chat in small groups. Sit with a few other people and explore a question together.

  • Switch tables. Move to a new group for the next round, bringing ideas from earlier conversations with you.

  • Reflect together. At the end, we'll share the insights and themes that emerged across the room.

Your host will guide you through each step on the night. You don't need to know anything about World Café beforehand — just come ready to share your experiences and listen to others.

Do I need to know anyone to attend?
No. The format is designed to bring people into conversations with others they may not already know. I'll guide the process, so you don't need to prepare a presentation or come with expert knowledge.

Who qualifies for the alumni price?
Anyone who has attended a Mind Made session. Your alumni ticket will be approved after registration.

What language is the session in?
English.

What's the cancellation policy?
Tickets are non-refundable within 7 days of the event. If you can no longer make it, please let the host know so someone on the waitlist can take your seat.

What if the event is sold out?
Join the waitlist. If a spot opens, your host will reach out so you can decide whether to join. If no spot opens, you'll get a full refund.
