​Join us for another gathering of the Benin City Logos Circle. This month we're carrying forward the momentum from June with fresh progress on our ongoing projects, including the first look at a build that came straight out of last month's brainstorm, plus plenty of community building.

​Battery-Powered Node: Building for Power Outages
At our June node workshop, members ran Logos nodes on their own machines and hit a very local challenge: keeping a node online 24/7 without a constant power supply. Out of that came an idea, a Raspberry Pi node paired with a rechargeable battery that can keep running for up to 48 hours without mains electricity. This month we'll share where the build has reached and what's next.

​Zeqah Study Group: Live and Gathering Feedback
Zeqah, our peer-to-peer academic support structure for UNIBEN students, is now implemented and running, one of our completed winnable issues. We'll share how it's going on the ground and the plan to gather student feedback at the end of the semester to keep improving the system.

​Iris: Toward the Second MVP
Iris, the wearable AI assistant for blind and visually impaired individuals, won a prize at an engineering competition in Nigeria with its first MVP. Research on the next MVP continues, aiming to work in place of the eyes to give complete vision. We're opening the floor to neurosurgeons, neuroscientists, and medical researchers who can offer feedback, so come share your insights.

​FundBrave: Community Fundraising Update
We'll share the story so far on our ongoing medical fundraiser, and how the circle rallied to support one of our members' families through a campaign on FundBrave. Come hear how community-driven fundraising is making a real difference.
