​How We Dine Is How We Live is a curated series of summer dinners taking place across Vilnius throughout June and July.

​Each evening is hosted by a different cook who brings not only a cuisine, but also a personal story, creating a table shaped by food, memory, history and presence.

​For the first time at Socialoftas, we'll gather around an Indonesian table, hosted by the wonderful Maya, who will prepare a traditional Indonesian dinner and share a glimpse into her culture.

​This evening unfolds through the idea of drifting—not only across oceans and islands, but across languages, memories, gestures and recipes that continue travelling quietly through people long after journeys begin.

​The evening begins with a short live story by curator Kamal, opening a conversation that we'll carry with us throughout dinner. Together, we'll reflect on movement, migration, belonging, and the invisible things we carry across generations and across places.

​The stories shared throughout the Summer Tables series form part of an ongoing writing project, From Postcolonial to Postsoviet — A Personal Journey, exploring memory, foreignness, language, belonging and transformation through lived experience.

​About Summer Tables

​Summer Tables is a more intentionally curated continuation of How We Dine Is How We Live—a series of cultural dinners exploring food as a space where memory, migration, adaptation and diasporic presence become visible through the lived experience of the person hosting each table.

​Every dinner welcomes around 25 guests, creating an intimate setting where conversation unfolds as naturally as the meal itself.
