About Event

Turn bold ideas into validated digital health ventures in just 48 hours.

About the Event

Organised collaboratively by King’s E-Lab and Global Education Lab, the Zero-To-One Weekend is a 2.5-day immersive, hands-on experience designed to transform early-stage ideas into credible, testable ventures within 48 hours, with its inaugural theme focused on digital health. As part of the programme, participants will also have the unique opportunity to attend a fireside chat with Nobel Laureate Katalin Karikó, offering insights from one of the most influential figures in modern biomedical science.

AI is embedded from the very first moment. From team formation onwards, participants work alongside AI tools that help identify real clinical problems, form balanced teams, validate assumptions, and accelerate venture development.

Teams form around pre-determined, clinically and commercially meaningful challenges. Using AI-assisted clustering, participants are matched into complementary teams based on experience, access, and domain knowledge, ensuring diverse, well-balanced teams and faster progress from insight to execution.

Programme Agenda

A curated 48-hour journey from idea to investable digital health venture.

Day 1: Friday, 19 June

Ideation & Team Formation

The programme begins at King's College at 17.00 with an inspiring fireside chat with Nobel Laureate Katalin Karikó. Post interaction, the participants walk back to the Cambridge Judge Business School, where they enter a highly curated environment where ambition is matched with structure and rigour. Those participants who skip the fireside chat are required to report at 18.30 for registration directly at the Judge Business School.

Following an interactive icebreaker, venture ideas are presented, challenged, and refined. Through a structured selection process, the most promising opportunities are identified, and multidisciplinary teams are formed, bringing together the right mix of skills to begin building with intent.

By the end of Day 1, you will have:

  • Identified a high-potential problem space

  • Joined a carefully constructed team

  • Aligned on a clear venture direction

Day 2: Saturday, 20 June

Build, Test & Validate

Day two is focused on disciplined execution.

Participants engage in expert-led masterclasses covering problem definition, value creation, and business model design—anchored in real-world healthcare challenges. Teams move through structured build sprints, combining analytical thinking with rapid development.

Validation is central throughout, with teams rigorously testing assumptions, refining their solutions, and receiving continuous feedback from experienced mentors, clinicians, and investors.

By the end of Day 2, you will have:

  • Developed a clear value proposition and business model

  • Built an early-stage MVP or solution prototype

  • Validated key assumptions with structured feedback

  • Established a credible foundation for your venture

Day 3: Sunday, 21 June

Refine & Pitch

The final day is about precision, clarity, and communication.

Participants gain insights from experienced founders before refining their ventures and crafting compelling narratives. Through focused masterclasses and expert mentoring, teams prepare to present with confidence and credibility.

The programme culminates in a formal pitch showcase, where ventures are presented to a distinguished panel of founders, clinicians, and investors.

By the end of the programme, you will have:

  • A working demo or validated concept

  • A clear and compelling investor-ready pitch
