Boston Longevity Week 2025

Turning Cities into Launchpads for Longevity Innovation

Boston has the ingredients to lead the next wave of healthcare - developing protocols and interventions that support healthy aging and directly target the biology of aging (precision geromedicine). With a world-class life-sciences cluster, top universities and hospitals, and policy/economic incentives that ease translation and commercialization, the city is poised to be the East Coast’s premier longevity hub.

What Is Longevity, and Why Now?

Longevity isn’t just about more years; it’s about better years - extending healthspan alongside lifespan.

Key aspects:

  • Extended lifespan: Living longer than average, potentially beyond species-typical life expectancy.

  • Healthy aging (healthspan): Adding years free of chronic disease, disability, and cognitive decline.

  • Holistic drivers: Biology, lifestyle, and environment - not genetics alone.

  • Preventive & regenerative care: Proactive, science-based, personalized strategies to slow aging and improve quality of life.

Why now? Aging drives nearly every major chronic disease. New biomarkers, AI, and translational tools create a window to shift medicine from late-stage treatment to prevention and healthy longevity, yet regulatory gaps, trial design, and the lab-to-clinic handoff must be solved to unlock the full potential of precision geromedicine.
