​A financial crisis is looming. Anthropic is artificially kept afloat by an oligarch class that view AI as their chance to permanently solidify power. And they are willing to risk killing us all trying.

​What is an IPO?

​Anthropic is asking the federal government to approve their upcoming IPO (Initial Public Offering). This means Anthropic will become a publicly traded company in the stock markets. If this goes through, Anthropic will have access to a new influx of wealth they can and will use to continue to pursue dangerous AI technology.

​Who are the SEC?

​The SEC (Securities and Exchange Committee) is the federal body that oversees decisions like IPO's and other stock market related regulations. The current head of the SEC is Paul Atkins, a Trump loyalist, who has been letting "scammers off the hook [...] At every fork in the road, he has turned toward Wall Street over Main Street" according to Sen Elizabeth Warren.
