About this event
Stablecoins and tokenized assets are moving from pilot to production. Across payments, settlement, and capital markets, the question for financial institutions is no longer whether to engage - it's how, and on what terms.
The signals are accelerating. Major banks are joining a EUR denominated stablecoin consortium. Nordic institutions are evaluating their own positions on stablecoin issuance, tokenized deposits, and on-chain settlement. The ECB is moving toward a digital euro pilot. The window to set policy, build the operating model, and shape the rules is now - not after the market is decided.
Risk is part of the story, but it's measurable and manageable. In 2025, illicit activity fell as a share of total on-chain volume from 1.3% to 1.2%, even as the broader market grew. With the right controls, public ledgers can offer more transparency than the siloed systems they're starting to complement.
This roundtable brings together a small group of peers for a candid conversation on how to engage with confidence. What's working, what's not, and what comes next.
What we'll cover:
The adoption picture: stablecoin and tokenized asset momentum across European finance in 2026, and what it means for Nordic institutions
Building the operating model: how leading institutions are setting policy, controls, and counterparty frameworks for engaging with digital assets
The Nordic context: implications for payment rails, settlement, and institutional adoption
Reading the risk signal: practical lessons from emerging cases, including A7A5 - the sanctioned ruble-pegged stablecoin - and what effective detection looks like in production
Reducing false positives and blind spots across on- and off-ramps, DeFi, and high-risk intermediaries
Collaborative intelligence: how banks, PSPs, and exchanges are working together to move from signal noise to actionable insight
Co-hosted by Luke Dufour, compliance advisor, EMEA at TRM Labs, and Magnus Jones, board member at the Nordic Blockchain Association. Moderated to keep the conversation candid and peer-led.
