EduX Pre-Hackathon Workshop 1 - CurricuLLM
EduX Pre-Hackathon Workshop
Designing Curriculum-Aligned AI Tools for K-12 Education
About the Event
As part of the lead-up to the 2026 Oceania EduX Hackathon, we are hosting a series of pre-hackathon workshops to help participants explore real challenges in education and develop ideas for meaningful AI solutions.
This session is designed for teachers who want to better understand how curriculum-aligned AI platforms can support teaching and learning in everyday classroom practice.
Led by Dan Hart, founder of CurricuLLM, the workshop will introduce educators to how curriculum-aware AI tools work, how they can be used to support planning and teaching, and what makes them more useful than generic AI tools in school settings. The session will focus on practical classroom application, with examples of how teachers can use the platform to create resources, support lesson preparation, and work more efficiently while staying aligned to curriculum expectations.
It will also provide useful context for participants preparing for the EduX Hackathon by showing what strong, classroom-ready AI design can look like in practice.
What You’ll Learn
During this workshop, we will explore:
• How curriculum-aligned AI platforms can support day-to-day teaching
• How teachers can use AI tools to assist with planning, resource creation, and classroom preparation
• Why curriculum context matters when using AI in schools
• What makes an AI tool practical, safe, and useful for real classrooms
• Ideas and examples that may inform EduX Hackathon projects
