​AI agents can now do much of the work of a human red team, probing a company's systems for exploitable gaps so they get fixed before real attackers find them.

​Travis Lanham, cofounder and CTO of Armadin, leads the team building those agents. Before Armadin he was a Principal Engineer at Google and the technical lead for Google Cloud Security Operations, where he set the technical strategy for Google's enterprise security portfolio and helped grow it from launch into a top security vendor. He's also a Stanford alum, a national champion at the Collegiate Penetration Testing Competition, and a cofounder of Stanford Applied Cybersecurity.

​Armadin was founded by Kevin Mandia, who built Mandiant into the company Google bought for $5.4B. In under a year Armadin has raised $445M, including a $255.5M Series B co-led by a16z and Accel this month at a valuation above $2.5B. Its agent swarms attack critical infrastructure and some of the largest corporations in the world, so their customers can close the holes first.
