​This powerful documentary tells the story of Ellis Haizlip and the groundbreaking public television show SOUL!, which aired from 1968–1973. At a pivotal moment in American history, the show created a rare and radical platform where Black artists, musicians, poets, and thinkers could express themselves freely and unapologetically. through archival footage and intimate storytelling, the film highlights how SOUL! helped shape cultural conversations around Black identity, creativity, and liberation.
