On June 4, Prime Minister Mark Carney officially launched AI for All - Canada's most ambitious national AI strategy to date. This five-year plan commits to new legislation, sovereign infrastructure investments and sweeping programs designed to make AI work for every Canadian. The strategy targets $200 billion in additional economic growth, 250,000 new AI-related jobs, and a jump in AI adoption from just over 12% today to 60% by 2034.
Vancouver Tech Journal in partnership with AInBC is bringing together BC's AI leaders to break down what this means for the Vancouver's startup ecosystem, the tech workforce, and the next generation of homegrown AI companies
Topics We'll Cover
Legislation & Trust — What do the new transparency and safety rules actually require from BC startups, and are we ready?
Talent & Workforce — Will this strategy finally keep Canada's best AI minds at home, or are we still losing ground to the US?
Sovereign Infrastructure — Who really gets access to public compute, and can BC startups compete with hyperscalers on Canadian terms?
Policy to Opportunity — How do BC founders move from watching the announcement to winning the contracts?
