Film for change : How can film be used effectively to support a campaign?
Micah Garen & Marie-Hélène Carleton are renowned documentary filmmakers, writers, photographers & dog-lovers.
Micah, Marie-Helene and the audience will have a discussion about how film and media can be used as an effective tool for change. We will be showing short films from Iceland that were part of a campaign to end commercial whaling, and a short film for The Guardian to highlight the effort to stop Rio Tinto from destroying the sacred Apache site of Oak Flat in Arizona.
How can film be used effectively to support a campaign? What are the important aspects of story elements that need to work?
