Community & Civic AI: Code, Communities & Connections
The AI Architects Fellowship welcomes Jeremy Burke as a guest speaker for a special bonus session, bringing his background from Aretian and Open Citizen to the fellowship stage.
This session steps back from pure LLM engineering to ask a different question: what happens when you apply graph and network theory to how communities, cities, and economies actually work? Jeremy will walk through how network models can reveal hidden structure in civic and economic systems - then bring it to life with live technical examples in code.
Designed to be useful for the whole fellowship. Whether you're deep in the weeds of agent architectures or you've never written a line of code, you'll leave with a clearer mental model of how networks shape the systems around us, and how AI tools can help us see and design for that structure.
No coding or ML background assumed. Concepts are introduced from first principles before we go deeper. Builders will get technical texture, Citizens will get the "so what" for civic and business decision-making.

Open to both AI Architects Fellowship tracks:
🛠️ Builders: aspiring or self-taught engineers who want a new lens (network science) to bring into their AI toolkit
🏛️ Citizens: business and civic leaders who are AI-curious and want to understand how these models apply to real-world community and economic decisions
Everyone welcome, the only prerequisite is curiosity.
About the Speaker
Jeremy Burke is a founder, technologist, and systems thinker with a background in architecture, urban design, and data science. He has designed single-family homes and hospitality resorts; city neighborhoods and futuristic developments (NEOM); and digital tools to analyze human behavior and economic output in cities.
Jeremy co-founded Aretian Urban Analytics and Design and has several ongoing projects, including Open Citizen, Mnemo Atlas, and Meridian XYZ. He has published two peer-reviewed papers on urban analytics and is the author of the book City Science: Performance Follows Form.
This session is part of the AI Architect Fellowship, a free 4 week program for builders and civic minded leaders to get hands on with AI, kicking off September 15. Two tracks: Builders (aspiring or self taught engineers) and Citizens (business and civic leaders who are AI curious), working in cross track pods with a shared capstone. No experience required, and applications are rolling.
