Spring Equinox Ritual
Dear Wiches of Berlin!
It is a pleasure to invite you to a ritual I will be leading on Saturday, 21st March. In the spirit of pre-Christian Slavic beliefs, the rhythm of nature inspires the rebirth and reawakening, and so we gather at this halfway point between the darkness and light.
This time, I will be accepting monetary donations to offset my travel costs. (I intend for any money I receive to come back to the donor tenfold.)
Also, the event is open to all genders.
There’s nothing you need to bring aside from your innate magic.
In case you feel called to, you can bring:
Hay from a place significant to you.
Thread in a colour, your intuition advises.
Fruit or snacks to share.
Alcohol to have or to share.
Scissors (if you don’t want to share)
Spring Equinox ritual flow:
We gather in the park and create small figurines out of hay. Those represent aspects of our personalities that are already dead. Traits, behaviours, thoughts that do not match our current and/or future identity.
We hold the figurines in our hands as we climb up the hill. We gain clarity on what needs to go.
The figurines in our hands should be at least as inconvenient as the elements of our lives we’re letting go of. We don’t force the answers, but welcome them as we go up.
At the summit. We name them and whisper thank you and goodbye forever. We take however long we need.
We form a circle around a burn bowl. We open it with shamanic breath, then one by one feed our figurines to the fire. We fill the space we got back with the energy of all that we wish for. And close the circle with our breaths.
We walk down to the meadow in the park, enjoying our free hands.
We feast, and chat and connect.
