Maybe that’s just a clever disguise for fear or doubt. We’ll gather at the table and swap stories. What happens if you hang onto those old hopes anyway? Maybe life starts to look a little different.

I'm David, a Lisbon immigrant (not an ex-pat) of nearly 18 years now. This ever-changing, always-the-same, beyond-beautiful city is one of the loves of my life. You know, along with my two Portuguese-English kids, music and a handful of other pastimes, people and places with the power to bring a glint to my eye and a thud to my heart. I also, despite everything you've just read, try my best not to take myself or most things too seriously. Hell, who has the time for that?
