Advanced AI Society and Linux Foundation Decentralized Trust (LFDT) invite you to join us for our three-hour online event, "Who's Watching the Machines? Launching Proof-of-Control, an open verification standard for the agentic era."

We are convening the founders and operators building the open verification ecosystem: open-source maintainers, enterprise security executives, insurers, and policymakers. September 23, 2026, at 8:00 PT, 11:00 ET, 17:00 CEST, and 23:00 SGT. Register for the zoom link via LFTD directly.

Why now

Washington's AI debate is mostly about what a company discloses before a model ships, which still leaves you taking that company's account of itself. One bipartisan bill asks a different question: the Stop Rogue AI Act, H.R. 10362, directs NIST to set standards for verifiable agent identity and provenance, akak not just a vendor's word. Proof-of-Control is an open standard written for that question, and v1.0 is out for comment until 30 October.

At a glance

  • The Category Shift: Why non-deterministic AI outruns traditional static audits, and why verifiable AI is a distinct technology category concerned with audit-ready evidence of what an agent actually executed.

  • Extending Open Source to Execution: open verification is a new category of approaches that moves the root of trust away from the operator. It extends the ethos of open source from inspecting source code to allowing anyone to openly verify runtime actions across the agentic stack.

  • Proof-of-Control Standard for Machine-Speed Governance: Advanced AI Society introduces Proof-of-Control, a new open verification standard co-designed alongside over 80 global cybersecurity leaders and verifiable AI companies. Proof-of-Control's Verifiability Tiers outline how to reach mechanical enforcement—gating execution on tamper-evident evidence so policy violations halt before compounding into systemic crises. Hosted by LF Decentralized Trust, Proof-of-Control V1.0 is now open for public comments through October 30, 2026.

Who should attend

  • Enterprise AI Leaders, CIOs & CTOs: Transitioning from static models to autonomous, non-deterministic agent workflows.

  • CISOs & Security Executives: Managing runtime operational risk, delegated authority, and unauthorized execution.

  • Insurers, Regulators & Auditors: Establishing compliance frameworks, evaluating independent verification frameworks, and pricing agent liability.

  • Developers & Cryptographers: Building the open standards stack for agentic identity, authorization, and runtime verification.

  • Public Policy & Civil Society Leaders: Ensuring machine accountability remains a public good rather than a vendor-controlled garden

Event Agenda & Breakdown

Part One — The Category: Why Open Verification, and Why Now

Starts at 8:00 AM PST / 11:00 AM EST / 17:00 CEST / 23:00 SGT

Learn how the open-source movement is expanding to address non-deterministic execution through open verification. We gather perspectives from policy, open-source maintainers, cybersecurity leaders, and AI safety experts to examine why unverified agent execution has become a critical liability.

  • Talk: Open Verification in the Agentic EraTricia Wang (Advanced AI Society)

  • Policy Briefing: State of Independent Verification OrganizationsBri Treece (Fathom)

  • Talk: Secure Infrastructure for Machine TrustDaniela Barbosa (LF Decentralized Trust)

  • Talk: Open Verification at the Linux FoundationJim Zemlin (Linux Foundation)

  • Fireside Chat: Agent Execution and AI SafetyEsben Kran (Juniper) interviewed by Bettina Warburg (Advanced AI Society)

  • Demo: Joseph Perla (Trusted Router)

Part Two — Proof-of-Control: Moving the Root of Trust

Starts at 8:50 AM PST / 11:50 AM EST / 17:50 CEST / 23:50 SGT

A deep dive into Proof-of-Control, the anchoring open standard hosted at LF Decentralized Trust. Through real-world agent security scenarios, insurance pricing models, and direct deployer requirements, we examine why enterprise leaders are seeing the need for openly verifiable controls.

  • Talk: What Is Proof-of-Control: How the OpenAI / Hugging Face Incident Would Have Looked DifferentTricia Wang and Jim Schwoebel (Advanced AI Society)

  • Talk: Underwriting Machine Risk: The Insurance OpportunityVidur Nayyar (Advanced AI Society)

  • Panel: The Demand from Deployers — "We Will Not Deploy What We Cannot Verify"

Part Three — The Builders, Implementations, and Research Stack

Starts at 9:50 AM PST / 12:50 PM EST / 18:50 CEST / 00:50 (+1 Day) SGT

Hosted by Sheila Warren (Advanced AI Society), Part Three showcases the builders and cryptographers implementing open standards across zero-knowledge proofs, sovereign compute, identity, and network routing.

  • Talk: State of Verification Research & AnnouncementsAndrew Trask (OpenMined)

  • Talk: The Open Verification Research StackJim Schwoebel (Advanced AI Society)

  • Closing Remarks - Michael Casey (Advanced AI Society)
