About Event

NOSTR Vancouver Inaugural Meetup

Like Bitcoin, NOSTR emerged from the principle that communication infrastructure should be decentralized and censorship-resistant. We're gathering Vancouver's first NOSTR-focused community to explore what's possible when users control their own data and social connections.

What We'll Do:

Connect and Build Community

Meet Vancouver's Bitcoin community and identify individuals interested in establishing an ongoing NOSTR Vancouver chapter. Whether you're already running a relay, building clients, or just curious about the protocol, this is your chance to meet local developers and users.

Gather Real Feedback

We want to hear what's actually working and what isn't. What features are missing? What's frustrating about current implementations? What tools would make NOSTR more useful for you? Your input shapes what gets built next.

Explore Development Opportunities

Discuss development initiatives, explore hackathon and workshop possibilites and potential funding opportunities for NOSTR projects. We'll explore practical ways to support adoption and technical improvements.

Hacker Garage Discussion

We'll gauge interest in launching Hacker Garage YVR—a potential community workspace for collaborative development.

This meetup is about forming a sustainable local community around decentralized communication infrastructure. Just practitioners sharing knowledge and identifying what Vancouver's NOSTR ecosystem needs.
