About Event

AI Worth Using x Hermes

We just launched the the AI Worth Using Podcast, a show were guests like Peter Steinberger (founder of Openclaw) and Jesse Vincent (creator of Superpowers) teach Tom Preston-Werner (founder of Github) how to use their products.

But we're missing Hermes! To celebrate the podcast launch, AI Worth Using and Plow (plow.co) are collaborating with us to give away a Mac Studio!

We want to learn how real people are using Hermes to solve real problems with agents. If that's you, join this Hackathon to win a Mac Studio and be interviewed by Tom Preston-Werner on your workflow.

Here's how it works: Build an agent. Get people using it. Win a Mac Studio and come on our Podcast.

1. Solve one real chore, end to end.
Build a Hermes agent that completes something you actually need done—not a demo or mockup.

2. Publish it for others to run.
Your agent must be publicly available (MIT Licensed) and installable through the AI Worth Using Agent Index.

3. Qualify through real usage.
Agents will be ranked by installs and usage reported to the AI Worth Using Agent Index. The top 10 advance to a Plow Team vote. First place wins a Mac Studio (M5 Max); second wins a Mac Mini (M6). The top 3 will be candidates to be featured on our Podcast with Tom Preston-Werner (the co-founder of Github).

Every submission must use at least one open-source Plow tool:

All submissions must also use the AI Worth Using client to report usage back to the dashboard. The Agent Index publicly tracks users and successful installs. To rank on the leaderboard, agents must be working for real users.

Key dates:

  • September 9th - Hackathon Launches! Kickoff on Google Meet.

  • September 16th - Submission deadlines on Agent Index

  • September 23rd - Plow Team Votes to determine the Top 3; The first place wins a Mac Studio. Second place wins a Mac Mini. The top 3 will be candidates to be featured on our Podcast with Tom Preston-Werner (the co-founder of Github).
