Abstract: While standard MCP servers are increasingly being swapped out for simpler CLI tools and skills, MCP apps are a different story. This session walks through the practical reality of rendering a custom UI inside MCP clients, like the Claude and Chat GPT Desktop apps. Expect a candid look at the tedious setup hurdles, managing authentication, and the workarounds required to build on the MCP app spec that is still very much a work in progress.
