Flowering Dandies

​A workshop on queer botany & native seed balls with a plant-based dinner.

​Join us for a hands-on workshop led by Leo Kirts about the queer history of flowers and the subversive power of seeds. Together, we'll combine clay, compost and native wildflowers to make seed balls that beautify bare soil on neglected land and provide food for pollinators.

​The event includes appetizers, dinner and special iced lavender lemonade provided by Le Botaniste in collaboration with Maison Jar, a low-waste grocery store and refillery in Greenpoint.

​Facilitator: Leo Kirts is a food industry worker, vegan cook and freelance writer from Indiana based in Queens covering food, ecosocialism & ecofeminism.

​Accessibility: Le Botaniste is an ADA compliant venue with bathrooms and bar stool, both or chair seating options.
