About Event
The Art of Poems is a 4-part course for poets at the start of their writing journeys.
Session 3 is all about editing your existing work and taking it further. Think structures, line breaks, vocabulary and more...
Expect exercises, some editing theory and lots of discussion and group readings.
Bring your unpolished poems or bring your finished work - whether its something you've written in sessions 1 and 2, or from before - all is welcome!
Jamal Mehmood is a writer and filmmaker based in London. His work has been featured at the Institute of Contemporary Art, Magma, BBC4, Poetry London, and Popula. He has been shortlisted for the Outspoken Prize for Poetry in Film and won the national Poetry Rivals. His latest book ‘The Leaf of the Neem Tree’ (Hajar Press) was released in 2021. Jamal is currently a staff writer at Muftah Magazine.
