Your Cap Table Is Sorted. Is Your Visa?
An official One Way Summit side event

You’ve lined up the term sheet, the cap table and the hiring plan. Is the immigration side just as buttoned-up? On the eve of One Way Summit, join immigration attorney Sweta Khandelwal for coffee and an informal Q&A. Bring your questions about visas and green cards, both for your own path as a founder and for bringing international talent onto your team. You can attend in person or join on Zoom.

Why This Matters Now

In today’s immigration climate, sound legal advice and a clear strategy have never been more important. Immigration laws, policies and procedures are changing quickly, and a single wrong move can have lasting consequences, including your ability to enter or remain in the United States. For founders, the stakes are even higher: your status, your team’s status and your company’s growth are tied together. Staying ahead of these changes is essential to a successful immigration strategy, and the best time to ask questions is before you need the answers.

Who Should Attend

  • Immigrant founders and entrepreneurs

  • Founders hiring, or planning to hire, international talent

  • Startup operators, HR and people leaders

  • Investors and advisors supporting immigrant-led companies

  • Students and early-stage entrepreneurs exploring the founder path

  • Anyone curious about how immigration fits into building a company in the U.S.

What to Expect

  • An open Q&A on founder and employee immigration topics, such as O-1, H-1B, EB-1, the National Interest Waiver, and green cards

  • Insight on recent immigration changes and what they mean for founders and their teams

  • Practical perspective on visa options for founders and early teams

  • Coffee and conversation with fellow founders and builders

  • A relaxed, small-group setting where no question is too basic

  • The option to book a private consultation afterward

About the Speaker

Sweta Khandelwal, Principal Attorney at the Law Offices of Sweta Khandelwal, knows the immigration journey firsthand. An immigrant herself, she has worked her way through the system’s complexity on H-4, F-1, OPT and H-1B status, then through the green card process and on to U.S. citizenship.

With 20 years of practice, Sweta helps immigrant founders, employees and their families build personalized immigration strategies. She has represented 100s of startups and entrepreneurs, including founders from leading accelerators and incubators such as Y Combinator, Stanford StartX and Techstars. She is also a chartered accountant (the Indian equivalent of a CPA), so she also understands the business and financial side of a founder’s journey.

Sweta’s recognitions include the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) Advocacy Award, Super Lawyers Rising Star, and the American Society of Legal Advocates’ Top 40 Under 40 immigration attorneys in California. She is a past Chair of AILA’s Santa Clara Valley Chapter and has served on several AILA national practice committees. She has spoken to immigrant forums and communities across the U.S. and abroad.

Please note: This is a public event offering general information only. Attending does not create an attorney-client relationship, and we will not discuss the details or specifics of individual cases.

Space is limited. Register to join Your Cap Table Is Sorted. Is Your Visa? and get your immigration questions answered before the summit begins.
