From AUSA Speed Dating to Going Steady: Practical Next Steps for U.S. Defense Market Entry.

You attended AUSA and are now thinking about how to take your first steps towards operating in the U.S.

The Pillsbury National Security team will discuss key considerations for taking your first/next steps in the US, based on their longstanding experience advising Israeli and other subsidiaries of allied defense contractors, focusing on corporate law and governance, international trade, and government relations.

Didn't attend AUSA? Not a problem, this session is for everyone thinking about the U.S. Defense Market Entry.

Our Speakers:

Justin Rubin - Justin Rubin provides legal, lobbying, and strategic counsel to U.S. and U.S.-ally-owned companies in matters involving the intersection of law, business, and public policy. Justin has strong bipartisan relationships in Congress and the executive branch, including the Department of Defense. He serves as a strategic advisor to CEOs, frequently providing counsel to companies that lack internal government affairs teams and helping bridge the gap between national lobbying, business, and law. Before joining Pillsbury, Justin served as an appointee in the Department of Defense, including as the Director of the Deputy Under Secretary of the Army’s Strategy and Integration Office.

Sam Lipson - Sam Lipson is a corporate attorney who represents high-growth technology and life sciences companies and their investors in a wide range of industries. Sam’s practice involves advising from formation to exit, primarily focusing on venture financings, mergers and acquisitions, securities offerings, entity formation, and other general corporate and strategic matters. He regularly serves as outside general counsel to innovators. He is efficient, business-oriented, and reasonable, and endeavors to solve legal and business problems for clients throughout their lifecycle. Before joining Pillsbury, Sam was the managing director and general counsel of a family office primarily focused on investing in early-stage technology companies and emerging venture fund managers. Before that, he was an emerging companies attorney at a leading law firm for startups and venture capital.

Arielle Heffez - Arielle Heffez focuses her practice on international trade and national security matters, including export controls, sanctions, foreign ownership, control, or influence (FOCI) mitigation related to facility security clearances, CFIUS and foreign investment, the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) and global anti-corruption, and other regulatory and public policy issues. In guiding clients, Arielle draws upon her background in crisis communications, international strategy, and national security. She has held a variety of positions in Israel’s public sector, including with the Israel Ministry of Defense and the Embassy of Israel to the United States, and in Israel’s wider defense industry.
