43North Volunteer Casting Call
Thank you for your interest in participating in the upcoming 43North video! On behalf of the production team, we’re thrilled that you want to be a part of this.
You are encouraged to bring a friend or family member.
We are creating a short video that celebrates Buffalo’s pride and progress, debuting at the 43North Finals Night. It’s inspired by a beloved PSA from Buffalo’s past.
You’re joining us as extras in a group scene to be filmed on Monday, August 17, from 2:30-5:30 p.m. at Erie Basin Marina (rain date is set for Friday, August 21). We will be located at the observation tower.
Please keep these details confidential. It is important that you do not share or post photos from the shoot, or share anything publicly about your experience filming until after Finals Night on October 8, 2026. We appreciate your help keeping this video a surprise so Finals Night lands exactly the way it should for everyone in the room.
Below are a few details about what to wear. Most importantly, please bring your Buffalo spirit, warm and welcoming attitude, and be ready to have fun! Other required items are water and sunscreen. Please leave your valuables at home.
Attire Suggestions
Clothing should not have logos or graphics (including 43 North and Buffalo Bills)
Avoid bold prints or tight linear patterns; avoid houndstooth as that does weird things on camera!
Solid colors are preferred.
Clothing should not be too tight or too loose.
Seasonally agnostic clothing is preferred. Please do not wear sleeveless or low cut tops.
Wear comfortable shoes. No heels, no flip flops. We will be walking by the observation tower at Erie Basin Marina.
Hats and sunglasses are optional.
Makeup & Jewelry
Keep jewelry minimal. Small studs and classic pieces tend to read well on camera.
For makeup, going slightly bolder than usual can help on camera, but the priority is feeling comfortable and like yourself.
Hair should be clean and dry. It looks best not pulled back too tight, but otherwise wear it however you're most comfortable.
Quick Answers to a Few Questions
Is this paid?
This is a volunteer opportunity. If you are excited to be part of it, we’d love to have you.
What would I actually be doing?
You would be part of a group scene filmed at Erie Basin Marina. There are no spoken lines, but we may ask you to walk, stand, mingle, and react naturally on camera—nothing that requires acting experience, just being yourself and having a good time.
Where should I park?
At the marina, please park in the white line spaces. Do not park between yellow lines. These areas are reserved for boat owners.
How long would I need to be there?
You should plan for the full window, roughly 2:30-5:30 p.m. on Monday, August 17 (rain date August 21). Our large group shot by the observation tower is expected to occur between 4-5 p.m.
Will there be restrooms available?
Public restrooms are open during the day alongside the park and garden areas.
Will I need to sign anything?
Yes, everyone who participates will need to sign a standard release waiver.
