Agriculture is exposed to almost every physical climate hazard, more than any other economic activity. Real-time precision farming technologies and AI sensors help farmers respond to heat, cold stress, drought, and other weather conditions quickly. Physical climate risk analytics goes further: it helps prepare for extremes years before they happen.
It answers questions such as: How unusual are current drought and low-water conditions? Are these events becoming more frequent or severe? And what do future projections indicate for extreme rainfall, groundwater availability, droughts, floods, heat, and storms?
During this session we’ll discuss impact assessment methodologies and existing effective risk management approaches along the production chain: from agricultural production - to storage, food & fiber processing, logistics, and supply chains.
