Macro Meets Micro 2026: What State-Level Numbers and Narratives Tell the World About U.S. Climate Action
This public event featuring The Groundwire Group and E3G will trace how global trends are showing up in concrete state-level decisions—from utility plans to energy and industrial policy. Speakers will also reflect on how U.S. state and federal choices influence global attitudes and appetite for climate ambition. The expert panel will then debate what this two-way feedback loop means for the durability of climate progress in a volatile political moment.
Event Format
The Groundwire Group will kick off the event with an introduction to its Six Currents framework, which provides a lens for understanding how global forces are shaping U.S. state-level climate actions, the magnitude of impact they can have, and what makes some states more durable actors on climate than others. E3G will expand on this theme, linking U.S. federal climate actions to global attitudes and appetite for climate action, highlighting both limits and avenues for subnational engagement on the international stage.
A 30-minute panel discussion will follow, gathering an expert panel with deep insights on the global and state-level energy transitions, political narratives, and sustainable investment. The event will conclude with a 15-minute audience Q&A followed by brief closing remarks.
