About Event

What if we could turn down the heat—literally?

Join the Chesapeake Climate Action Network during New York Climate Week for a fun, fast-paced Solar Reflective Methods (SRM) Hub Crawl, exploring the science, possibilities, and big questions surrounding emerging approaches that could reflect a small amount of sunlight and temporarily cool the planet.

While you eat and drink, hop between hubs for conversations with scientists, advocates, and climate thinkers working to research and understand these SRM technologies.

Expect big climate questions, fresh ideas, good conversations, and plenty of NYC energy as we explore:

What are solar reflective methods?

What does the research tell us?

Could these approaches ever complement emissions cuts and adaptation?

Who gets to decide whether and how research moves forward?

How can communities have a meaningful voice in the conversation?

This isn’t a deployment pitch—and it’s definitely not a science lecture. It’s a chance to get curious, ask hard questions, and imagine what responsible climate research and governance could look like while having great food and drinks!

Come for the science. Stay for the conversation. Leave with a few new questions.
