Low Tide Walk
This is a beach walk! Under the sun on the Salish Sea. Living on Duwamish land means water is everywhere. People of place thrived through a living relationship with this sacred element.
These walks are a step towards learning how to cultivate this relationship. We're going to do this through sensory relating with the landscape and seascape.
We do this by practicing how to meet a new being. What's the habit of the sea? Who lives here? What do they eat? Who eats them? What's that's squishy thing??? If you thought the forest is full of wonder on fractalling dimensions, wait till you come to beach.
I'm only inviting the Trillium community for now because I am just getting acquainted with the Salish. You guys already know that medicine of our practice, and it feels more easeful for me to learn with you all without the added complexity of introducing new folks to our community and how we relate. That said, if you have someone who you think would a be a good fit, you are welcome to share this invite.
Things to know:
-Rule #1: We're going to be on the beach. In the elements. There is wind, direct sun, sand, rocks, mushy things, sharp things, and hella water. If you want to get in there and have a rich experience, you're gonna get wet, dirty, and a worn. Being feral is human af. You're invited to be as feral as your body and spirit are calling.
-The rest of this info is for your info so you can prep for your comfort level. Keep it simple. Less is more. As your intimacy grows with the sea, you'll get better at prep.
-Footwear: Any shoes or no shoes would work, but keep rule #1 in mind as you choose. Sandals or water shoes are ideal
-Bottoms: One that allow you to comfortably get knee deep in the water
-Protect yourself from sun. People use stuff like hat, sunglasses, long sleeves, sunblock.
-Parking: Seahurst has an upper lot, uphill that is a 10 minute walk from the beach. There is a small lower lot. If the parking angels are with you, you might nab one of these primo spots.
-Folks are invited to arrive early or stay late to get some more beach medicine. Picnic? I might join you depending on my capacity
-Arriving late? Calling me is your best bet to find us 206-742-8989. We usually walk the paved path north (right) then step on the beach and comb our way south
See you then!
