The Rhythmic Body: Resonating Pulse With Lanre Balogun
It is with great pleasure that we invite you to Salon Maxivive Season 2, Session 2, a special evening featuring DJ and writer Lanre Balogun of babytomato, taking place on July 3, 2026, at SHEBANG Amsterdam, located at Lemelerbergweg 35G. The evening will begin at 7:00 PM and conclude at 10:00 PM.
Salon Maxivive is a reciprocal initiative by Nigerian fashion designer and activist Papa Oyeyemi, founder of Maxivive and member of DARKMATTER Collective. What began in 2021 as a proposed collaboration has evolved into an ongoing platform for dialogue, bringing together artists, thinkers, and communities through intimate salon gatherings.
The evening will unfold as a dinner interwoven with fashion and music. Nigerian jollof rice will be served, and we anticipate welcoming approximately 80 guests. Drawing from our different networks, the gathering will bring together a diverse and inspiring mix of creatives, cultural workers, and community members.
Together with Lanre Balogun, we invite you to join an evening that creates space for exchange on fashion, music, identity, and the ways personal and societal experiences can be expressed through rhythm, performance, and the body. We hope this encounter sparks meaningful conversations, new insights, friendships, and future collaborations.
