AAIF Agentic AI Workshop - Deciphering AI for Retail and Manufacturing
โ๐ Deciphering AI for Retail and Manufacturing - An AAIF Pune workshop hosted by Newtuple
โJoin AAIF Community Pune at Newtuple for a practical workshop on AI in product discovery, online commerce, and manufacturing service workflows. We will review current industry examples, then build a small e-commerce experience that connects with ChatGPT and Claude.
โNewtuple designs, builds, and operates enterprise AI agents and applications. Its experience includes agent-based data access for an aviation OEM, document intelligence, verification of AI-generated answers, and MCP-aligned application architecture. The workshop applies these capabilities to retail and manufacturing tasks where accurate data, connected systems, and human review matter.
โ๐ In retail, these capabilities apply to product catalogs, supplier onboarding, inventory checks, and customer service.๐ญ In manufacturing, they apply to parts selection, dealer portals, quote preparation, and after-sales support. Through guided live coding and business exercises, we will use one sample catalog to connect these use cases to a reusable implementation.
โ๐๏ธ The workshop is limited to about 40 participants. Registration is approval-based. Business and technical pairs are encouraged.
โ๐ก What you will learn
โIdentify a practical AI use case and a measure of business value.
โ๐ Use WebMCP to let an agent operate an e-commerce website.
โ๐งฉ Use the Model Context Protocol (MCP) and MCP Apps to connect tools and an interactive interface to ChatGPT and Claude.
โ๐ Assess product information for answer engine optimization (AEO) and generative engine optimization (GEO).
โAgenda at a glance
โSession details
โ๐งญ Session 1 ยท AI in Retail and Manufacturing Today
โ10:30 to 11:00
โExplore practical examples of AI in product discovery, shopping, merchant operations, and service workflows. We will review examples from Shopify, Swiggy, and Stripe, then connect them to opportunities in retail, distribution, and manufacturing.
โNewtuple will explain how its experience with data access, document processing, and answer verification applies to these tasks. We will introduce the agenda, explain the technologies used in the labs, and demonstrate the experience we will build.
โโ Takeaway: A clear view of the integration options and one relevant business use case to explore.
โ๐ป Session 2 ยท Build a Storefront That ChatGPT Can Operate
โ11:00 to 12:30
โBuild a small e-commerce website from a prepared starter project. Add WebMCP tools so an agent can search products, select variants, check availability, and prepare a cart or quote request.
โWe will operate the website from ChatGPT's supported browser experience and check how each request changes the live page. Technical participants will work on the implementation. Business participants will define customer requests and test the results.
โโ Takeaway: A working storefront prototype with explicit tools that an agent can use.
โ๐ Session 3 ยท Bring the Same Store into ChatGPT and Claude
โ13:15 to 14:45
โReuse the store's catalog and business functions through an MCP server. Add an MCP Apps interface with product cards, a comparison view, and draft-cart or quote controls.
โConnect the experience to ChatGPT and Claude, then test how people and assistants work with it inside a conversation. We will explain how ChatGPT Apps, Claude connectors, and plugin packaging fit together. The lab will focus on the shared tools and interface.
โโ Takeaway: A connected prototype that demonstrates the same commerce workflow in both AI platforms.
โ๐ Session 4 ยท Make Your Products Discoverable Through AI
โ14:45 to 15:45
โExplore AEO and GEO through product questions, comparisons, and recommendations. Examine product descriptions, specifications, compatibility information, structured data, and catalog feeds.
โParticipants will audit sample product pages and identify changes that make the information clearer and more complete. We will discuss how to measure AI visibility and answer accuracy over time. The session will close with participant demonstrations and a short workplace pilot exercise.
โโ Takeaway: A product-information improvement plan and a pilot brief with an owner, required data, and a success measure.
โWho should apply
โ๐ค Working professionals in retail, CPG, e-commerce, distribution, and manufacturing, including:
โProduct, digital, merchandising, marketing, and operations teams.
โEngineering, architecture, and data teams.
โPeople responsible for product catalogs, dealer portals, procurement, or customer service.
โ๐ค Business and technical pairs are encouraged. Preference will go to participants with a relevant use case or an opportunity to apply the learning in their organization.
โPrerequisites
โ๐ For everyone
โ๐ป Bring a laptop and charger.
โHave ChatGPT and Claude accounts, signed in.
โBring one business use case to discuss.
โComplete the account and access checks sent before the event.
โ๐ ๏ธ For participants who will code
โInstall an IDE, such as VS Code or Cursor.
โInstall and sign in to a coding assistant, such as Claude Code or a similar tool.
โInstall Git and the Node.js version specified in the setup guide.
โBasic familiarity with JavaScript and web applications is helpful.
โBusiness participants can work with a technical partner. Deep experience with AI agents is not required.
โ๐ฆ Newtuple will provide the starter project, sample catalog, test infrastructure, and setup instructions. The preparation guide will specify supported software, account requirements, and any costs. Participants should complete a setup check before the event so that lab time can focus on the build.
โWorkshop scope
โ๐งช We will build learning prototypes using sample data. The commerce workflow will end with a draft cart or quote request. Manufacturing examples will focus on parts, distribution, procurement, and service workflows.
โThe AEO exercise will produce an audit and improvement plan. Changes in search visibility must be measured after the workshop. You will leave with reusable examples and a practical next step for your organization.
