Mapping, Matching and Money: Philanthropy for People-Centered Supply Chains
Corporates rely on small- and medium-sized enterprises (“SMEs”) to help meet their sustainability targets, but what happens when we fail to reskill global supply chain workers who are critical to attaining these goals? Problems like canceled supplier contracts that delay production, increase market volatility, lower profitability and put people out of jobs, all of which counter economic well-being and mobility even as the planet remains under threat.
Join us to learn how "Mapping, Matching and Money"—a new initiative of the Ares Charitable Foundation (the “Ares Foundation”) in collaboration with World Resources Institute ("WRI"), The Project on Workforce at Harvard University and Pagitsas Advisors—intends to help corporates and SMEs strengthen global supply chains through worker reskilling. By helping businesses identify, analyze and implement strategies to address their human capital vulnerabilities, the initiative aims to help future-proof SME workers—particularly those in the automotive and textile sectors—with in-demand sustainability skills.
"Mapping, Matching and Money" builds on the Ares Foundation's Climate-Resilient Employees for a Sustainable Tomorrow (“CREST”) initiative, including the findings of WRI’s 2025 technical paper, Elephant in the Boardroom: People Are Missing in Corporate Supply Chain Goals, and the Ares Foundation's 2025 Fast Company article, "People-Centered Supply Chains for the Win." This webinar follows an Ares Foundation session at the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting 2026 that examined relevant topics.
