About Event

Hey design system friends!

Next Design Systems Breakfast is coming up, and this time we have Slava Shkodin (https://www.linkedin.com/in/vladislav-shkodin-0250b84a/) presenting — a Frontend Tech Lead with 15+ years in frontend development.
The topic: How to create the perfect Skeleton component.

One thing I especially appreciate about our breakfasts — speakers bring their ideas to us first, before presenting to a wider audience. This is exactly what's happening here. And from experience, these early-stage sessions lead to some of the best discussions we have.

Here's how Slava himself puts it:

"Existing solutions are either over-engineered and require measuring DOM elements either in runtime or in build time using Playwright or similar tools or, quite contrary, over-simplified, which results in a lot of manual work to adjust the placeholder sizes to match the existing blocks. I'd like to give a talk about completely different solution to the problem, that stands somewhere in between: it's quite simple in implementation, did 80% of work on its own and just require some adjustments once in a while."

If you've been looking for that middle ground between complexity and manual work in loading states — this is it.

As always, the vibe is casual. No recording, no pressure. Grab your coffee, bring your questions, join the conversation.
