Arthouse Cinema
β5 is here. ποΈ
βPride month might be over, but our stories continue.
βWe are not a blockbuster cinema. We are a community β gathering to question, to process, and to reflect through film.
ββ
βThis edition is hosted by Dr. Patrick β a healthcare professional whose work centres on listening to and documenting the personal histories of patients as a record of their healing journey. He brings us a film by Rosa von Praunheim, one of the more eccentric and electric voices to emerge from the New German Cinema movement.
βThe Army of Lovers, Made in 1979, the film explores the politics of sexuality and the tensions within the LGBTQI+ community itself. It asks us to sit with pain, joy, opposition, and solidarity β and somehow, the questions it raises don't feel all that distant from today. Revisiting it now offers a lens into where we've been, where we are, and where we want to go. You decide.

βThe Evening:
βπΉ 19:30 β Doors open. Join us in the courtyard for drinks. Our cocktails take their cue from the film β think Americana.
π¬ 20:15 β Screening begins.
π―οΈ After β An optional space to process, together.
ββ
βOnce sold out, a waiting list opens β if you're on it, come anyway, enjoy the bar, and if there are no-shows, the space is yours.
βSee you at The Practice LX. π€
